Why the lies

Why the lies. If it is settled science that humans are causing global warming, then why do global warming alarmists feel the need to lie? For example the third IPCC report said that at the present rate of melting the Greenland ice cap will totally be melted in 8000 years. Green peace made the claim that it would take just 80 years.

Al Gore claims that the sea levels will rise by 20 feet. Yet the 4th IPCC report reportedly claims that it will be at most 17 inches. So why do these people have to lie if science is on their side?
James Hansen a NASA Scientist who is often quoted by the global warming alarmist. Has said the scientist had to lie in the past to get funding, but now they have a duty to tell the truth. If scientists can admit lying to get funding why should we doubt that politicians and environmental groups would be above lying to get their policies passed.

Snow

Ok yes I know that one weather event does not disprove global warming ,but it is amazing how often global warming alarmist will say warm weather is proof that global warming is real. So why is it that when it has not been above freezing here in Stowe VT in more than a month and a we get snow like this in one day 2/14/07. It is only "weather." But The warm period we had was "climate change?"

This blog is called Climatters the title is a contraction of Climate Matters. This blog is about climate and climate changes and what is causing them.
Well, who am I and why am I starting this blog?
My name is Tom Trevor and I am an artist in Stowe VT. I am not a scientist, but I do have a BS in aeronautics that includes 9 credits in meteorology. I remember coming home from school in 1972 being very upset,and telling my father " We have to stop polluting because if we don't we will cause a new ice age. " That is what my teacher told me. I always wondered what happened to that ice age.
Then in about 1980 I read about "global warming." The ice age ended before it started and the cause of the ice age and global warming was the same, pollution. How could this be? At first I didn't think much about it ,ut I would still read everything about global warming in the news papers. I was sure the global warming alarm bells would soon stop ringing soon, because something about it just did not make sense. But they kept getting worse.

Yet in all that I was reading there was very little or no scientific reason to panic. The more I read the less and less convinced that global warming was real. Soon studying global warming became a real hobby for me.
Now I don't go out there and write peer reviewed papers.
however, I am fairly intelligent and can read them, and other information about global warming. The more I read the more sure I am that humans are not having a large impact on global warming.
In future posts I will get into the many reasons for my believing this. Also on occasion I will write about what is happening with me and my family and other things of interest yo me I hope some of this will interest you the readers too.
